What does this sentence mean?

His own, at the moment, lent it a festive readiness of welcome that might well, in a disenchanted eye, have turned to paint and facility. ===It's so difficult that I can't grasp the meaning of a sentence.

What does this sentence mean?

i am not entirely sure, i wish you provided more context as it might be easier to figure it outwhat i THINK the first part means is " at that moment in time he was happy and ready. but if a disenchanted person (someone not 'into it') was watching/involved it might have turned to paint and facility"i don't really get the 'have turned to paint and facility' parthope this helps

What does this sentence mean?

It means he was being over hospitable and it seemed fake and rehearsedpaint-to depict as having specified or implied characteristics facility-the quality of being easily performed
