What color to paint my guest bedroom?

I am looking for a french theme. I have this beautiful canvas painting that is made up of navy blue and light blue (french people dancing) that I want to hang on the wall. What color should I paint the wall that will go with the painting? I do not want to paint the room blue though. The carpet I have is a light brown color. Any suggestions?
Thanks yowza for the link. I'm not keen on yellow but I do like the marshmallow idea. White would look good but I want to see if there are any other colors that would look good first to have a bit of tint to the room. Any more suggestions?
~*Ashley Star*~ I like the red color idea. I will think about that one as well as the the marshmallow idea. Any other suggestions?

I think tan would be great, you can never go wrong with it. But so its not boring you can texturize it. That is what we have along with matching ceilings its very classy and can be used for everything.

You want the guest to feel relaxed and tranguil like it's the master suit-I would suggest a cream or baige color.-maybe a dark brown color but with bursts of light blue and other light colors. Bark brown and blue go together really nicely.-hope that helps!!!!!! =)

I would do a white - like "marshmallow" by sherwin williams. I think it would highlight the painting beautifully. And then if you get blue bedding, it would all tie together. Very classic.

OTOH if you don't want white, a yellow - like "daffodil" would look lovely, too:
