What colour should we paint our Hallway?

Our Hallway covers two stories, quite high walls and at the very top is a skylight, What colour would be best to make it looks as good as possible?

Many thanks to everyone and hope you have a great day.
Carpet would be beige, also on the walls would be family portraits. we're changing deco, roughly be pine sofas are red and also brown,

I need more details on the decor of the rest of your house. That depends on what color to choose for your hallway.

I know you see alot of dark wall colors these days, but I think it just makes houses look dreary and gloomy. I would go for a cream colored wall to make the space look upbeat and bright and clean. You can always add color with pictures and other items.

Yellow for warm and casual, a light gray for cool and more formal. Consider a dove color as well -- it's a pale grayish brown -- very neutral, but adds a little color (and won't be glaring the way white can be).

Cream is the best, it will blend in with the rest and still present good light reflection.

I like to keep things light and airy - try Antique Cream by Crown. It's a very subtle cream with a hint of beige (some creams are yellow based - not this one!).
