Repainting a built-in - Fake woodgrain or plain paint?

I bought a house and int he basement there is a built in unit about 8ft wide and 7 ft tall. There are three equal sections w/3 shelves and the center section has two doors w/glass. It's painted a tan/yellow color but the paint is very worn.
I want to use it as a bar, w/the center section for glassware and the sides for bottles/display. What colors would you suggest? I'm between just a bold brown and a deep chocolate color. Both semi-gloss. Black I think would be too much.

What is the best way to host an image so you can see what I'm talking about?
