How can I removed dried paint from a woollen garment?

I managed to puncture a can of metallic (magnetic!!) purple emulsion with a screwdriver! It was in my boot at the time and I didnt realise how bad it was until I lifted the can out. I was wearing a very expensive knitted cardigan and managed to get 3 points on the sleeve! How can I remove this without damaging the garment?
The label states it is 70% wool 30% acrylic. Any Ideas People?

There might be some suggestions you could try on this thread...

I've never tried it on a cardigan, but I used a water and white vinegar mix to get emulsion paint off a carpet (dabbing it on the paint) - not sure if it would work with metallic paint though
