What Do You Of Painted Branches In My Room?

My room is dark blue but ,not so dark and the borders around my windows are white.My mum said it would be a good idea to paint a black branch with no leaves on the wall,all black like if it were a shadow.Any suggestions? thanks much!
I'm an artist by the way.
