How is Honda Touch-up Paint applied?

I scratched my front left side of my bumper (about the size a bit smaller than my palm) and I bought the correct touch up paint for honda.

Will this make it seem better? Or should I just buy a car bra for my front bumper and hood? This way, it will cover it all and the scratch will not be seen.

Also, how would you go about applying the touch up paint.
