| Okay 2nd try about painting bumper? Okay, I'll try again one more time I'm looking to replace my bumper.. Hopefully I'll find one in near perfect condition that's allready silver, BUT if I have to buy one and have it painted.... I am of course going to have a professional do the paint job, but Im just trying to do some paint pricing.. what kind of paint will I need to paint a bumper? It's a 2002 Mazda protege.. what websites sell this kind of paint.. will I have to pay for primer, if the bumper says it's allready primed?? Can I buy the basecoat from a site like http://www.paintscratch.com?? What all would I need to order?? Thanks.. I'm just checking prices.. I'm not looking for a full quote for how much this will cost. .I'll look at the prices, I just need to know what I have to buy... websites you recommend for buying the paint? also, of course, I have to find out how much the paint costs (I can find price, I just need to know WHAT I need to get..) so that I can decide if it's cheaper to find a used bumper allready painted or From what I can tell the paint will come to around 86 on that website.. 2 cans spray basecoat 2 cans spray clearcoat, and a few other things.. if that's true, it WOULD probably be cheaper to buy a bumper for 90 (the price I've seen for a plain primed bumper) and paint it.. THe used ones I've seen run around 200 and not sure about the condition... BUt I don't know for sure if I'm calculating the prices right because I'm not sure what kind of paint I need.. OKAY.... HERE'S THE REAL QUESTION Can I use a colormatched spray paint as found on http://www.autopaintdirect.com/spray.html (I realize to cover a bumper I'd need at least 24 oz (2 bottles) so if I were to buy two of those matched to my car's color and 2 cans clearcoat would I need anything else?? THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO KNOW!!!!! Please!! |
