We are painting the exterior of our front door.?

My boyfriend seems to think when you paint the exterior you paint the interior the same color. Which would be a deep red...would someone please explain to him that you normally leave the interior white...he doesnt believe me....or am i the one in the wrong?

No, you do not need to paint each side of the door the same color. My front door, for example, is wood. The exterior side was glazed with a raspberry color (paint/glaze mix allowing the grain to totally show thru) and the interior side was not glazed, but left oak wood; stained and finished.

why the heck would u do that?! it would be too dark i think. i hate when my husband tries to gove me his decorating imput when he dosent know what hes talking about. plus exterier house colors if its the door or the house itself tend to be colors that u dont use inside of the house. the inside and outside of the door never need to match!!

You are right because I just bought a really expensive front door made out of fiberglass. It came with the dark red color on the outside and is white on the inside.
I guess you could paint it purple if it turns you on but most homes you will find white on the inside.
