you need to measure the walls lenght x width to come up with
square feet the normal gallon of paint has a coverage of 350 - 400 square feet. you should use two coats of paint
for even coverage.

in the bathrooms use moisturing paint-first use a good primer
sherman williams blocking sealing primer

good luck

It depends on how high the ceilings are as well as the size of the rooms. If it's a McMansion, I have no idea. My guess for 1,250 square foot house would be about 4 gallons for the living room, dining room and hall, maybe 2 gallons (not quite for each bedroom) and about a little less than a gallon per bathroom, kitchen, probably 2 gallons--10 gallons more or less, depending on whether you need to prime some walls where there are stains or you've taken down wallpaper or did a lot of drywall repair. It also depends if you are painting the darker colors (green, red) that are popular now--darker colors will require a primer and more than one coat. Then you will also need a gallon of semi-gloss trim paint for the doors and molding. You'll also need rollers, roller covers, trays, tape, roller pole, brushes for cutting in and a set of small rollers and covers for the doors.

Part of the quantity is going to depend on the colors you choose. I painted my master bedroom & bath burgandy. It took 1 1/2 gallon of primer & the same in paint. My daughter's room is lavender. It took 1 gallon plus 1 of the glaze we used to faux finish.

Another factor is going to be room size. Take your room measurements to Home Depot or Lowes. They are good at helping figure out how much paint you need based on room size & color.

If you are going darker, use a tinted primer. It is cheaper than paint & will make the paint go farther.
