Is it safe to spray paint a steam radiator with regular spray paint(not heat

resistant) inside a home? About 2 weeks ago my uncle spray painted the steam radiator in his room with regular spray paint. Since then the smell has not left our apartment. My family and I are expierencing fatigue, headaches, confusion, and sinus problems. I don't know what to do to rid the house of the smell or remove the paint. I have tried looking up information on the internet about the risks of prolonged exposure to paint fumes, but I can't find any conclusive evidence to show my Uncle(He doesnt believe its harming anyone-but he's not home often enough to be effected by it)....... I just need to know where to look for info, or if anyone has any advice- I would really appreciate it..

Your paint could indeed be the cause of your symptoms.

I've installed enough steam components (industrial/commercial applications) to observe new components 'smoking off'.

If the paint used wasn't recommended for this type of application, then you could be being exposed to unsafe levels of a chemical.

If the paint is culprit #1, then contact a painting contractor to determine the best way to remove the paint (without adding to your problem).
