Are you on a normal residential lot? Or are you playing the EP university? If you're playing the EP university then you are not allowed to remodel the rooms. IF you're playing on a normal residential lot then I would suggest that you move delete that lot and start a new one.

| On my sims2 game, it wont let me make any changes, like build things or
paint or anything in that catagory.? it lets me do everything else, like buy things and everything but it doesnt let me do stuff in the painting and remodeling catagory
