natalie c has a spectacular aura about
Do I want to make costumes for performing arts or be an international aid government

worker? Costuming:
- I have a natural talent for it.
- I've done a lot of volunteer costuming work for film and theatre, and enjoyed every minute of it.
- There is a lot of costuming for TV and film happening in the city where I live (Vancouver, BC)
- I don't know how to get into the industry. I might have to go to costume design school for two years at Dalhousie University, in Halifax (other side of Canada)
- I might have to work waitressing jobs for year to pay the rent. I like serving OK, but I really don't want to do it for much longer.

International Aid:
- I'd have to finish my degree in political science, which would take a year, then go to Carleton Univeristy in Ottawa for a 2-year masters program in public administration / international development.
- I would probably end up working at CIDA (the government agency that administers aid in Canada)
- I'd get to travel abroad
- There would be a lot of office work, which I don't like at all.
- Working for CIDA would be a very cushy job. I'd get all kinds of benefits and the pay is equal or better than entry-level costuming in a film union. Plus, it would be stable, unlike the film industry. However, I think I might become claustrophobic and die if I have a 'steady' office job. If I got into the field, though (for example, a three-year posting in Kiev or Guyana), things would be very interesting.
