G.C.S.Es? How important?

English.... A/BMath..... A/BScience..... A/BArt..... specialist subject, only valued by those in the artsPerforming.... dittoHealth and Social.... same...perhaps it could be used a springboard to psychology/sociology, but I'm not really sure what this subject entails.I got As and Bs on the majority of my GCSEs, but the way they were spread so thinly over 2 or 3 years really ticked me off and ultimately, what they require is consistency rather than excellence. Went on to get three As at A level (a C from an AS course too) and then went to Uni. Don't have a job that pays over £30,000 but I do something I love and am utterly miserly with my finances. The most widely applicable subject(s), that would compliment virtually any other lesson you take and would prepare you for any walk of life, would be economics or business studies, seriously. Try and get in if you can.

Most 6th forms require 5 A*-C to get in to do A-levels. If you get all C's, then you'll get in but it's nothing special. Plus, you might find the jump to A-levels too ahrd if you're only getting C's. Aim for A*-B in every subect and you'll be fine.
