G.C.S.Es? How important?

Hi there, I'm doing my GCSE's this year and next year. Well they're very important I guess, and you definitely would need English, Maths and Science. ICT would be a good idea too, cos our future jobs are yet to come! You should at least get a grade above C in every subject! Good Luck with yours. =)

Well it depends, it depends on what you are capable of, what you want to do and what university you want to study at.. if you can do it and you want to go to Oxbridge then aim for A* and A's! (maybe a couple of B's) if not then just aim to get them all within the A*-C pass or at least 5 of them which is what you need to get onto A-Levels. You definitely need English, Maths and Science because most A-Levels will require it. Seriously just work hard and get what you are capable of achieving. =] Good Luck xox

you really need to be looking at c or above for GCSE in 5 or more subjects to get a decent joband most decent jobs want a levels as minimum now and many look for a degree as well, more and more people are doing exams therefore employers keep raising the boundriesand GCSEs are very important i think as they give you something to fall back on even if you dont go into further education,

Exams and good grades certainly are important, but not the bee all and end all. Look at Sir Alan Sugar! He is hardly highly qualified on paper but the skills he has have enabled him to build up a massive business. Why limit yourself to £30,000? Add another zero on!

your gcse's are only important until you get something better (a levels, btec etc..) but you must must must get english and maths at c or above! science is good too but not essentialJust don't believe the tv ads for driving schools saying "you could earn £30,000 per year" cos it's bull-poop!!

I left school with 9 'o' levels and they did nothing for me (classed as being far superior to g.c.s.e.'s incidentally!). I made my fortune buying and selling to Joe Public. Paper qualifications are only good enough to get you into your very first job, after that it's experience and personality that count.

You really need to get C's and above in the major subjects which are english, english lit, science, a language and maths and which others you choose eg history or geography you need to get a C. If you go on to do Alevels they will expect at least 5 C's. But when it comes to emploment I've found it has made no difference. Im only 19 and before I got pregnant and went on maternity I was £22,000 but i have got over 5c's but i don't think that matters.

Good grades A`s & B`s are important in English & maths & C`s generally, depending what you want to do or if you want to go onto A level.Whatever, I wish everyone sitting their GCSE`s all the luck in the world. God Bless.
