What moral / scientific philosophies of the 18th c. are present in Shelley's

Frankenstein? What is the relationship of the novel to history .. aka What philosophies (or ideas of natural philosophy, morals, reasoning) influenced Shelley's writing. Specific examples would be great. (So far I've read about Boyle, Goodwin [her father]).

Thank you.

Romantic ideals were very prevalent in this novel.

Shelley was a romantic author, and therefore professed their ideals. The ideals of romantics include being an individual, even if it means going against society. This is easy to see through the monster. Also included is the idea that technology is evil, which is seen through the creation of the monster. Lastly, Shelley professes in her novel that men are not god and should not act as such, which is shown through the disgusting look of the monster, which was a creation of man.

Jesus Approved has a spectacular aura about
Mary Wollstoncraft(feminist mother), George Gordon, Lord Byron, Erasmus Darwin, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
John Milton's Paradise Lost is quotes and referenced throughout the book, the monster and Victor both sympathize closely with Milton's Satan, the overreacher and the outcast.
Plutarch, with Plutarch's Lives profoundly affected English Literature, like Shakespeare's plays.
Goethe's The Sorrows of Young Werther, popularized the new emotional awareness of the Romantic age-a radical departure from the order and control exemplified by Enlightenment writers. The monster's expressiveness and passion were probably inspired by Werther's great despair and dramatic suicide.
