Could someone explain Ralph Waldo Emerson's philosophies to me?

i read lk just a little paragraph abt him in my u.s. history textbook (8th grade) nd i want to know more about what he thought about the world and the movement he lead

Well, he was a trancendentalist, meaning he was going against society and leaning more toward moral issues and religon. I think... I don't know much about his movement, sorry.
