| Help determine my philosophy?
I do not believe in supernatural deities/god. I deny the existence of supernatural deities/god. I do not believe in the supernatural. I deny the existence of the supernatural.
I have long considered myself an atheist but warring with people about pagan atheism on yahoo answers ( I consider pagan atheism an oxymoron) has made me realize I am not an atheist or I am not only an atheist because I not only deny the existence of gods but I deny the existence of the supernatural.
Am I a materialist? A naturalist? An infidel? A nihilist? I need some help here.
Thanks glo. You are right of course, labelling oneself is a self defeating ideaology, but I am still interested in the philosophical discipline (if there is one) that fits my definitions. Atheism is what I thought was the philosophy I most closely emulated but atheism does not include the denial/non-belief in the supernatural. Naturalism also seems to fall short, and materialism is only concerned with material and energy. Nihilism from what I understand of it, does not fit me either. Anyway great answer glo!
I have found a website that seems like a good possibility form me it is called 'The Brights'.
What is a Bright
* A bright is a person who has a naturalistic worldview
* A bright's worldview is free of supernatural and mystical elements
* The ethics and actions of a bright are based on a naturalistic worldview
