I don't get it. If I doctor a historical philosophy text, is my malfeasance quite...

...rightly studied by....... philosophers ?
If I question whether some safety-critical algorithms might have been doctored, thereby causing a project to run late, is this possibility unworthy of being studied by philosophers ?

well it depends, you can get instant feedback these days which is something that ancient philosophers didn't have. also it depends on how many people notice the text was doctored. If the philosophy no longer makes sense than it will fall into the background and be ignored. But philosophy unlike an algorithm needs to be challanged. Any good philosopher will want people to challange their beliefs to allow the philosophy to develop further.
If you just want to alter historical texts on the otherhand, you should just read 1984 and see the consequences and implications.

Worthy of the computer forum. It is a bit specialized for general philosophy. If you could render an ethical question from your malfeasance it could be answered here. Doctoring seems to be synonymous with cheating and does not require an answer.
