PHILOSOPHY- I am not understanding this...?

I am asked a question: Why ethical objectivism supports more tolerance than ethical subjectivism. Doesn't objectivism not support tolerance- it's the other way around? Please explain this clearly, I am having a hard time with this. Thanks

Yes you're right. Subjectivism is the one where someone, God, or a pastor can forgive you your sins, thus taking away the bad consequences. Objectivism is like the laws of gravity - no forgiveness, even if we were so inclined.

Ethical objectivism means existing independently of mind perception. Objective by definition means factual and free from personal bias.

Subjective, on the other hand means, existing only in the mind and not independently of it. In other words, based on some body's opinions or feelings rather than on facts or evidence.

So really it is quite logical. If you have an ethically objective view you are less likely to impart your own personal bias, and therefore more tolerant. Of course it is almost impossible to obtain complete ethical objectivism, since everyone has their own deeply ingrained bias.

Objectivism recogonizes the right of every man/woman to be his/her own master, no matter what that amounts to. It does not recognize the right of one person to prevent someone else from being his own master. You can be stupid, ignorant, an alpha, a beta, greedy, altruistic, stoic, a Democrat or a Republican. But you cannot not recognize the right of everyone else to be his/her own master. That requires the initiation of force or coercion.
If you don't use such force, you can be anything you want. As Ayn Rand said, citizens may do ANYTHING not prevented by law; government officials may only do what is ALLOWED by law.
THOSE are the ethics of Objectivism.
