| Y do some who Answer philosophy Q's feel need to evaluate the philosophy
Q's,the Askers,or both-w/o Answering? The fully worded Question: Why do some who Answer philosophy Q's feel the need to evaluate the philosophy Q's, the Askers, or both-w/o Answering the Q's? What's up with that?
FYI for the wiseacres: In 2 yrs and 3 months I have asked over 1400 Q's and have picked BA to the best of my ability for most of them after extendind answer periods most of the time to a full week. My Q, and remember it has been asked in the philosophy category, is an issue w/me based on my considerable experience from the asker-side. I have answered half as many Q's as I have asked and I always do my best to answer the Q asked avoiding the noted sins of many answerers!
"I guess a lot of people do that to make things clear." I wish that was the reason. but I think not. I think too few have the developed understanding of what is involved asking Q's and that lack of experience is covered up by being critical rather than helpful to the askers and other answerers/. It's also a bad habit and bad manners not to answer Q's somone paid 5pts to post!
Some think its clever to do that rather than post the Q evactly as they think it should be asked? Demanding perfection from askers who are more constrained by the Q&A format than the answerers is ignorance
Even a poorly formulated Q deserves a good answer. That is my expectation!
"analyzing the Asker" rather than their ideas? Rhetorically, I have to ask is that the sensible thing to do?
"Prepare to be evaluated" sounds like "You will be exterminated" by a Darlek in DR Who! Don't try to be too clever. My Q is serious!
"people tend to read the Question as a Statement"Q's are Interrogatory Statements seeking Answers. BUT In philosophy the goal of asking Q's is getting closer to truths and developing wisdom. Anything that does not join in that effort is a waste of everyone's time! Many refuse to see that and treat philosophy as an entertainment game. I wish there was more gravitas in the Answers we get to our Q's!
