I have a religion and I am glad I have one. It's not that I focus my life around relgion, I am just happy about knowing God as my personal savior. Life without God is pointless.

No, you do not have to have a religion to have a happy life.
But, I would say, any thing that you continue that makes you feel happy would be a philosophy of life, wouldn't you?
My philosophy is: live in the present, be responsible for my own happiness, words, actions and thoughts, and do good when I can. That helps me to be happy. I'm sure others have different opinions.
I call myself an Eclectic Pagan, but basically it is a philosophy of positive thinking and living.
