Adam and Eve is not real obviously...so is the rest of the bible just...

...philosophy and parables then? If you concede one part of the bible as being a fictions story because it is beyond a shadow of a doubt false...why do you accept pn blind faith that the rest is actually true?

I think dogmatic religious people are either not bright or need a religious crutch as a coping mechnasim (ie: your dead loved ones pets ect are waiting for you in heaven)
Please note my use of the word "dogmatically religious" this means they believe the bible and their church 100 percent and are not on a faith journey and seeking enlightenment or whatever you would call it

No, I disagree. I'm not sure how you came to the 'obvious conclusion' that Adam and Eve aren't real.

53% of the world (Christians, Jews, and Muslims) believe there was an Adam and an Eve. I've heard scientists speculate that there was sufficient DNA evidence to point to a single mother of humanity.

If religion is a crutch, then everyone has broken legs - only the theists realise their legs are broken.

Adam and Eve were actually real.
The more I experience life, the more obvious it becomes that the bible is very literal. That's why they wrote the stories, because those events were too amazing to be forgotten.
It is OK to be a doubting Thomas. Keep searching for the truth.

The Bible is nothing but a book of fictitious ancient stories that people decided to start taking literally.

Were you around during the beginning of time to claim what is "obvious"? Surely, there will be many sights and events that we'd find supernatural and bizarre now when the earth pops out of nowhere. What makes you think Adam and Eve weren't real?

And why would someone need a crutch of hope if we all just turn to dust as inexistent one day? That sounds much easier and absolutely harmless to me.

Do some research before you make elementary assumptions about things you don't know about...

Actually, because the Bible was written by many different authors you can easily dismiss an entire book or more. Just look at the Gnostic gospels...

Ah alright then, so you're probably one of those people that think that our ancestors were monkeys. Sorry, but I rolled my eyes the minute I saw your question.

People have different theories and opinions. I'm not going to tell you that the bible is 100% true and I'm not going to tell you its false either. Its up to you to decide what you believe in. And if you don't know what's true and what's not then go do some research and find out for yourself.

And I definitely do NOT think that religious poeple are 'not bright or need a religious crutch...'

Religious people are people who know what they want and where they are going in life. And not all religions are complete nonsense. Just most of them.

I try not too think to hard of it.
I've recently started a book listing down interesting facts, dreams I have and some of my beliefs.
First page "Why I am no longer a Christian"
Just sat down, thought it through, and here I am. Atheist at large.
As soon as I got right down to it, I found out that Christianity was not my style, so I just went from there, living my life of what I think is right.
