Nick Ziegler has a spectacular aura about
CSU Northridge philosophy and/or pre-med students: tell me about your departments?

I'm currently attending a community college. I'm doing philosophy and American Sign Language, and I'm also interested in medicine. I know, that's weird. Philosophy is my passion, and American Sign Language is a significant interest of mine, but I've always wanted to do international aid/relief stuff, so I've thought a lot about getting a medical degree, doing my internship, making a little bit of money, then finding a job where I can give medical aid in disadvantaged communities in various countries.

My ASL teacher graduated from Northridge, so if I wanted to continue with my sign language it'd be an excellent place, he tells me. However, I also want to get a bachelor's in either philosophy or biology with pre-med requirements, depending on what I end up deciding. Either way, I'll be taking philosophy classes for my own enrichment.

That all said, what can you guys tell me about classes in these areas at CSU Northridge? Thanks.
Additionally, how is Northridge as a community? What is there to do? I may as well get as much relevant info as I can.
