Is this the Christian philosophy regarding the bible?

If it seems like a lie, it must be a metaphor, therefore meaning something else.
If it coincides with anything proven to be true (or not yet proven to be false), then it is probably literal.

Here's one example:

Moses parted the red sea = literal
Samson killed an army of 1000 men by himself = literal
Jesus healed the blind, walked on water, raised the dead, and turned water into wine = literal
Jesus said we could perform the same miracles ourselves = not literal
To God is good, I used to have faith. More than you would like to admit. Then I read the bible and threw my faith out the window. Perhaps you should spend a little more time with your nose in the same book and less time telling me something I already know.
