2. Most Americans are industrious
Therefore: Most industrious people are freedom lovers.


We all say that is invalid because the conclusion assumes all people are like Americans, but this logic professor claims this is a valid statement...


It checks out with the 6 component validity formula, but its not valid...

The major term must be in the conclusion; as must the minor term. The middle term must be in the middle proposition and by convention be the first mentioned in the conclusion, along with the major term.

You can pretend to reduce logic to a formula but that does not make it truth.
