| Start a career in Fashion Photography? I know there have been many questions like mine, but i've looked through them and can't seem to find an answer that pertains to me. I'm about to finish my freshman year at a prestigious art school that isn't necessarily famous for their photography department (although we have fairly well-known photographers on the faculty, including the editor of Aperture). When I graduate, I really want to pursue a career in fashion photography. I know it will be extremely difficult especially since I'm an African American female and fashion photographers are usually white men. How do I go about pursuing a career in fashion photography so i'm financially comfortable in the long-run (I know it won't be immediately)? Is there anything other than photography I should be studying, unfortunately i don't think my school offers advertising classes. What should i do during and after school?      |
