WIll only taking 4 academics, photography and PE affect me getting into college?

This is Sophomore year. Should I really take 5 academics? I am not taking any honors classes, but I go to a really hard private school

It may not keep you from getting into college (assuming you eventually DO take all of the courses they ask for), but it may affect the type of college you get into. Good colleges want you to take the most rigorous program possible. While doing this once won't kill you, if you take easy electives instead of academic classes on a regular basis, it will affect your college choices.

You're going to need art classes for some college requirements. Check to see if that photo class is college prep. It's probably a good idea to take 5 academics in your sophomore year. The sophomore year is one of the most important years that admissions counselors look at.

It won't affect you getting into college if you apply to enough schools. But if you're trying to go to a certain school or a good school, then yeah, you should be taking 5 academics. You should also be trying to stand out from your peers. Colleges don't know how hard or easy your highschool is, they will just look at grades, SAT scores, extra-curricular activities and advanced/honors level classes. When you write your admissions letter, you'll have to tell them how awesome you are and why they need you.
