| Ok, I am not in my encourage novice photographer mode. When one advertises for business, one is expected to have professional level output. So I am going to comment on your work as a professional and not a beginner or student. The kid sports shots are the best, although nothing an amateur soccer mom can't do with a decent camera on program. Your nature shots are completely uninspiring, The hawk is not sharp at all. The donkey is a strange pose and cropped with no ears, the flowers are mundane, the cat closeup is badly out of focus, and the other cat has pet eye from the flash. Sorry to be so blunt, but there is nothing in the entire nature section that I would want to display on a website, or even on Flickr. At the very least, get rid of the weakest images, the hawk, cats and donkey. Most people who want children photography won't be interested in nature shots anyway. The children pictures are a little better than the nature ones. You have some blatant red-eye and stark on-board flash lighting that is producing harsh shadows.. The exposure looks pretty much point and shoot auto. The color is all over the spectrum. I wouldn't show a girl over the age of one year and under 21 without a shirt. Now, the one of the boy in the motorcross helmet was very well done in exposure and color. The lighting was nice. The profile of the little girl was nice, although a little red. Cropped too close to her nose, as was the boy profile next to it. The snow girl was another nice one. Can you count on having lots of photo shoots in the snow with that perfect light? In all honesty, I see photographers with product similar to yours having a go at making a business all the time. Digital photography has really dumbed down the standard for what is a good and sellable image. I am not saying this to be insulting, but new digital photographers are multiplying like mushrooms. It is a tough business to make a success at. Notice, I did not say it is hard to get into it, you've already started the process. And it is certainly possible that you will do well with it. I don't wish you ill, and I know I sound discouraging, but you asked for opinions and I have offered mine. Take it for what it is, one person's opinion. You might do well to buy a professional template to design your website, homemade websites usually look homemade. Good luck. |
