photography starter lighting?

i am starting off photography, and i need lighting to take pictures in my house, what would be a good lighting source for a beginner. I do not want a professional light for photography, this is just a hobby and i want something to start off with

You can buy a 2 light kit with stands for about $125. Or go to the hardware store and buy two photoflood lamps. They work great and are a cheap alternative.
