What is your favorite digital camera for professional photography?

I'm willingly to spend a bit of money on a new digital camera. Not a LOT, but I'm curious as to what you guys think would be a decent camera. I currently have a Canon Powershot A630 and I was looking at some of the Rebels. Any advice?
