public speaking speech on photography?

So I have to give a speech for my class and we have to have an Attention Getter in the beginning. And I have no idea what to have for my attention getter. My speech is on how to take a pic. using a manual 35mm camera. I basically talk about setting the aperture, shutter speed and the meter. Any ideas would help!

The three main rules of public speaking are:

1> Tell 'em what you're going to tell 'em
2> Tell 'em
3> Tell 'em what you've just told 'em.

So:

Take three pictures, all identical except one is underexposed, one is overexposed and one is just right.

Hold them up to the class and ask for opinions as to why each picture is different.

Thank them and give your speech.

At the end, pick up the three pics and say...and now you know why these pictures are the way they are.

get a headshot of your teacher and then photoshop their face on the body of a hot man/woman in a swimsuit, a body builder, etc. that will be funny, unless your prof has no sense of humor, in which case, you will fail the course for sure.

You might get their attention by speaking about the things a human eye could do if only you have direct control over it the way you can control a camera.

Imagine never needing sunglasses. Imagine seeing in the dark the way an owl can see. Imagine looking at a speeding race car so quickly that you can read every bit of lettering on the side fo the car without a blur. Imagine looking at someone you love and making everything else absolutely fade from your view. Stuff like that.

There are many ways to begin a speech with an attention grabber.
1. You could use a prop as the camera itself. Act like you are taking a picture of the audience, ask them to say 'cheese' and click the camera then get into the speech. This would be an action attention grabber.
2. Ask a question ' Do any of you still use a 35mm camera these days?'
3. Begin with a phrase or quote ex. 'They say Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.....but today I would show you something that comes very close to the eye'.

Remember a good speech also needs to have a good organization. i.e an attention grabber beginning, a well structured body where thoughts flow logically and a powerful closing. Leave your audience with some action that they should take in the closing.

Good Luck.

P.S - I sometimes use 35mm but it is mostly digital these days.

just tell them how it is, speechs that are planed are boring and the class sits there waiting to escape, you know how to use a camera just simply take them though the steps you take and why you using what.

Well if you can, bring in a camera and take a picture of the class! Or at least pretend like you are. It always gets people's attention when they think their picture is being taken. You could say something like "Strike a pose! Do you like having your picture taken? Or are you the kind of person who hates it? Maybe you prefer to be behind the camera, taking the pictures. Whatever your preference is, nearly everyone has been in a picture or has taken a picture before. But have you ever wondered why your pictures don't always turn out the way you wanted?" And then give them your speech on how to make pictures better by knowing how to work the camera.
