concert photography questionsss? please help!!!?

I'm going to 2 concerts coming up and my local newspaper wants me to take some pics at them- one where I plan on taking pics and staying after I'm done and the other leaving right after the pics but I'm confused about some stuff because I'm rather clueless about concert photography...
First, I know it sounds dumb but I wanted to make sure you even need a ticket if you're only going there strictly for pics and are leaving immediately after (?) And if you do- do you have to buy a ticket yourself or does the newspaper since I mean the pics are for them..?
And I've heard after you take the pics they usher you out- is that only if you don't have a ticket?? or will they kick you out even if you have one?? I know I sound really stupid but I really don't know about this stuff and our paper never does stuff like this so they don't really know what they're doing either..
so if anyone could help me or tell me some other stuff I should know that'd be great!!! thank you so much : D
