What kind of graphic design and photography stuff can I do on a MacBook?

^ That girl's called Ashley and she created whateverlife.com and her designs are awesome.
I have a new MacBook and I'm currently wanting to pursue a career in graphic design, but how can i do it on a MacBook? Right now I just kind of sketch things.
Ps. I'm also interested in some aspects of photography.
