principles of photography and recording images to film?

HELP!!
i'm doing a wildlife photography course and am reading like mad but just wanted some other opinions on this module question to see if i'm venturing down the right road! ok so ... "Outline the principles of photography and the methods of recording image on film" any ideas folks? thanks a lot for looking!
