| Hi Mike, I think that the problem is largely related to digital and the lack of basic process understanding by the majority of photographers - even pro's. This has inevitably lead to some huge insurance claims and even at one stage a consideration by companies of withdrawing market cover - but it also lead to efforts by groups to define and explain the management of digital quality (links to follow with free international quality guides).
Here in the UK if you screw up a wedding you can get sued for the entire cost of re-staging it, even flying guests in from abroad and hotels etc. And that's nothing in comparison with ruining a commercial print job, where press waiting times (simply caused by a delay) can be tens of thousands of pounds an hour. |
