Photography?

I love taking pictures.Of my dogs,my niece,nature,sunsets,you name it I've taken a picture of it.

I was wondering what kind of camera do you need to have semi-professional pictures?What is the price range?And how can I experiment with photography without spending over $400 to see if I really like it?

I would want to specialize in wedding photos,Portraits,High school Senior pictures etc.

I know my way around paintshop pro very well,and I've done photo imaging in the past and I am quite talented.

Any advice to break into this field would be appreciated!
