HELP? Lots of questions dealing with opening a small photography buisness?

I am opening a small photography studio. I am not new to the photography buisness, but new to owning my own.
I guess my main questions are about advertising and programs to use. I live in a small town and want to base most of my beginning buisness around that area. I'd like to mail out post cards annoucing my grand opening in May but am not sure how to do it. Also I am wondering about programs, what is the easiest program for doing black and white/sepia and b/w with color plus other enhancements. I previously used printshop but need a new program, and psp8 is just too hard to understand in my opinion! I'd love any thoughts on this. Thanks in advance!
