| Well, there are two avenues you could take. One would be to offer to take portrait photos of children, pets, families, or even do photography for weddings and special events, etc. You could put an ad in your neighborhood newsletter or local newspaper to start. But if you want to sell photographs you've already taken, more like art photography, you could volunteer to exhibit your work at local bookstores, restaurants, or cafes. You could also check for cooperative galleries in your area - these are galleries in which all the artists help out by taking turns sitting in the gallery while it's open, mounting exhibits, etc. Usually new members are chosen by existing members by a sample of their work. There are also some shops that sell local arts and crafts that might sell some of your work if it is framed or made marketable, as in notecards. You would need to check around your area for these shops & galleries. Good luck! |
