With Photoshop go to Image, adjustment, brightness/contrast.

How do you mean bigger? Make the original image bigger, or parts in the photo bigger? If you make the original photo bigger it can suffer from image degradation, and not be as sharp and in extreme cases really look like $hit. If you mean make something in the photo bigger, you can outline that part with photoshop, then resize it, but again, it can suffer from image degradation.

To make a photo B&W, simply go to image, mode, greyscale.

Those are very basic. There is a lot you can do with photoshop that takes practice, going to various web sites of photoshop tricks, and maybe adding a few filters. I use one for B&W from the imaging factory that is miles away better then what normal filters on photoshop will do. While it is possible to get the same affect with photoshop that the imaging factory plug in will do, it makes it easier and more controllable by a major league mile.

Hope this helps.

Examples of what photoshop and a simple point and shoot digital camera can do can be seen on my web site.
