Paper Rabbit has a spectacular aura about
Infrared Photography?

Who has tried it and what do you think of it? Have you converted your own camera or have you had someone do it for you like lifepixel?
I am just curious
http://www.lifepixel.com/
Has anyone tried converting a digital camera by removing the filter in front of the sensor manufacturers put on there or by using an infrared filter on the lens? Is converting the camera really that safe to so?
That is really cool, Michael! Thank you for sharing!! I have seen some beautiful IR pictures and was wondering if anyone on here has tried converting a digital camera and if they were happy with the results.
Oh God! I would not tamper with my camera like that. I am even afraid of cleaning any inside part myself!
S Watson: I will keep that in mind. I did not know there were ways to make lenses, but if you say they do not work then I wont try it lol

Yes I've done it myself with B/W and colour IR film - it's great but needs a few special considerations regarding filtration, focusing point and metering.

On this one I used a little split toning too:

Thanks PR!

I'd be very careful about messing with your camera unless it is a disposable item to you, but I do know there are some decent P/shop tutorials that replicate the effect with some pretty decent results - much safer and easier to control what you're doing!

I tried making a 'lense' for my camera but it was complete b/s. It does not do anything at all.
