Katie O has a spectacular aura about
Physics question 4?

Fidn the specific heat capactiy of an unknown metal, if a 40g piece at 100 degrees C raises the temperature of 100g. of water from 22.0 degrees C to 25.6 degrees C. Using the table below, what metal is the unknown.

Note: The temperature change for the metal will be 100 degrees C to 22.2 degrees C (the maximum temperature reached by the water) HINT: Equate the heat loss by the mteal = the heat gained by the water

Metal Specific Heat Capacity 9c) (cal/g. degrees C)
Water 1.00
Copper 0.092
Gold 0.031
Iron 0.12
Silver 0.057
Tin 0.052
Zinc 0.093

Also, a simple explanation of how to come up with the answer
