oh Physics, Ok, now does this belong? Weight and compression?

This may be a strange Physics question but I argued w/ my hubbie over this:
Tile versus Linolium?
I have Sticky tile on the kitchen floor, you know the kind that is in 12" squares!
we had a bunch of over weight people over for a wake years ago and noticed that after the wake the "black gummy goo" that is on the back of the tile started to come up around the edges of all the parts walked or standed upon! A equals A the weight of them PUSHED up the sticky backing, which caused it to come up. (no offence to over weight people, as i am not perfect myself) but since then after cleaning this goo up and having NO more people of obese weight standing on the tile we have not had a problem.
is this PHYSICS?
I hope so, or I am more blonde than I thought!
thanks!

If you have super heavy traffic over the tiles for a period of time, yes the gunk on the back will wear down. same happens over time with normal traffic. The gunk breaks down. You just have to go to Home Improvement Store and buy some more Gunk and re-stick the floor tiles. Be sure you get all the old gunk up before putting down the new gunk
