| Physics compression problem thermodynamics/ideal gas law? An 8.5 cm-diameter, well-insulated vertical cylinder containing nitrogen gas is sealed at the top by a 5.6 kg frictionless piston. The air pressure above the piston is 100 kPa. Initially, the piston height above the bottom of the cylinder is 29 cm. What will be the piston height if an additional 3.4 kg are placed on top of the piston? Assume temperature in the cylinder is a constant value. |
