Physics Guy has a spectacular aura about
Please help me with this confusing physics question!!!?

A 0.78 kg mass is moving horizontally with a speed of 8.0 m/s when it strikes a vertical wall. The mass rebounds with a speed of 4.2 m/s. What is the magnitude of the change in linear momentum of the mass? (kg*m/s)

LucaPacioli1492 has a spectacular aura about
The initial momentum (toward the wall) = mv = (0.78kg)(8.0m/s) = 6.24 kg m/s
The momentum after collision with the wall = (0.78)(4.2m/s)
The change in momentum = 6.24 kg m/s + 3.28 kg m/s = 9.52kgm/s

billrussell42 has a spectacular aura about
Change in speed is 8+4.2 = 12.2m/s
momentum is 12.2m/s x 0.78kg = 9.516 kgm/s
