| Physics...acceleration and velocity? The left ventricle of the heart accelerates blood from rest to a velocity of +24 cm/s. a)If the displacement of the blood during the acceleration is +3.0 cm, determine its acceleration (in cm/s2). b) How much time does it take for the blood to reach its final velocity? Notes: I'm getting 144 cm/s^2 and 1/6 seconds. That's not right!      |

| Physics...acceleration and velocity? Hey,using, V = u + at ; you get 24 = atthen, using, S = ut + (1/2)at^2 ; you get 3 = 0.5at^2since (at) = 24 ; 3 = 0.5(24)t ; t = 1/4 secondsthen, using 24 = at again, 24 = a(1/4), a = 96cm/s^s.hope that helps, and is the correct answer! take care. |
