Physics Magnetic Questions?

Please explain answers.

1) In what direction would a compass needle point, if it were free to point in all directions, when located at the Earth's north magnetic pole in Canada?

2) What is the net magnetic force on a compass needle? By what mechanism does a compass needle align w/ a magnetic field?

3) Your friend says that when a compass is taken across the equator it turns around & points in the opposite direction. Your other friends says that is not true, that people in the Southern Hemisphere use the south magnetic pole of the compass to point toward the nearest pole. You're on, what do you say?

4) Magnet A has 2x the magnetic field strength of magnet B (at equal distance) &, at a certain distance, it pulls on magnet B with a force of 50 N. With how much force, then, does magnet B pull on magnet A?

5) Replacing paved roads with steel rails reduced friction. What recent step reduces rail friction on vehicles? What friction remains after rail friction is eliminated?
If you can even answer just ONE of my questions, I would be very grateful.
I think the answer to number 3 is:
South of the equator the South end of a compass will point towards the "South Pole" which is the North pole of a magnet.
