Carol has a spectacular aura about
More physics!!!?

1. A 10 kg crate is sliding at a constant speed of 11 m/s along a frictionless horizontal table, when it encounters a friction patch (mus =1.1, muk =0.3). Once the crate enters the friction patch,

a.) What are the sizes of the net force and acceleration of the crate?
size of net force:
size of acceleration:

b.) How fast will the crate be going, when it has traveled 5 m across the friction patch?

2. A 10 kg crate is placed at rest on an incline plane (mus =0.6, muk =0.4), whose angle can be adjusted.

a.) The maximum angle of the incline for which the crate will stay at rest is:

b.) If the angle of the incline were instead 20 degrees:

What would be the component of weight acting along the incline?

What would be the size of the friction force and is it static or kinetic?

What would be the net force on the crate?

What would be the acceleration of the crate?

c.) Answer the questions in part b) If the angle of the incline were instead 55 degrees.
