Physics HELP!!?

The annoying sound from a mosquito is produced when it beats its wings at the average rate of 600. wingbeats per second. What is the wavelength? The speed of sound in the air is 340 m/s.

The annoying sound from a mosquito is produced when it beats its wings at the average rate of 600. wingbeats per second. What is the frequency of the sound waves?

Help Please!! I cannot figure these out

Well, wingbeats per second is just like saying that's how many times it happens in one second, which is the definition of frequency. So your frequency would be 600. s^(-1), or 600. Hz. As for wavelength, you have the speed of sound and the frequency so you can use the equation v=f?.

340 m/s = (600 s^(-1))?
?=0.567 m

the frequency is 600Hz

f = v / lambda

lambda = v / f = 340 / 600 = .567m
