Hero has a spectacular aura about
quick question for physics. please answer fast.?

A honey bee has two pair of wings that can beat 250 times per second. estimate a) the max angular speed of the wings and b) the maximum linear speed of a wing tip.

I wonder does 250 times mean 250 revolutions? And don't we need the radius of the wing to calculate the max linear speed of wing tip? No more information was given/

Hey Hero!!!!!!!!! your wonder of 250 times is correct because it really mean 250 revolutions per second. To calculate angular speed is calculated as:

s=2*(22/7)*w/t
where w/t(omega/time period)= 250 revs. per second.

I wouldn't think a beat of a wing is a revolution. More like up,down,and back. Like a bird flapping its wings. Without knowing how far the stroke is and the radius, you can't get either a or b.

Seems like a bogus question.
